Saturday!

Pet Sematary TwoPet Sematary Two (1992 ; 102 Brain Eaters) : This horror film is the sequel to the 1989 film Pet Sematary, which was based on the novel by Stephen King. The screenplay was written by Richard Outten and the film was directed by Mary Lambert. As much as I love the first one I have to say I think that part two is actually my favorite. The budget for this film was $8 million and grossed over $17 million but didn't end up with the greatest reviews. This film has a really great cast, Edward Furlong as Jeff Matthews, Anthony Edwards as Chase Matthews, Darlanne Fluegel as Renee Hallow Matthews, Clancy Brown as Gus Gilbert, Jason McGuire as Drew Gilbert, Lisa Waltz as Amanda Gilbert, and Jared Rushton as Clyde. I know that sequels are usually not as great as the original but I love this film. But Clancy Brown does such a great job, his character really makes this film.
Jeff Matthews and  his veterinarian father Chase moves to a old small town of Ludlow, Maine. They wanted to escape unhappy memories of Jeff's mother, a low-budget horror movie actress Renee who was recently electrocuted and killed in a freak accident which was witnessed by Jeff. In his new town Jeff hears strange stories of an ancient Indian burial ground nearby where dead pets that are interred come back to life. Jeff becomes friends with Drew whose abusive, bullying stepdad Gus is Ludlow's sheriff. When Gus kills his son's dog, Drew and Jeff bury the animal, which returns from the dead. When the vengeful dog kills Gus, Drew and Jeff bury the lawman in the cemetery and he comes back significantly worse wreaking evil havoc and bringing other back to life.

30 Day Horror Challenge: Day 03 - Your favorite slasher film:
This is a really hard question because I love slasher films and have way too many favorites. But if I have to pick one I will have to go with Halloween. This is hands down one of the best horror films ever made. This film was inspired by another amazing slasher Black Christmas which I love just as much. But Halloween has an amazing story line, a great cast, an awesome killer and falls on the best holiday ever. Not to mention this film was directed, produced, and scored by the amazing John Carpenter. Can't get any better than that!
