Thursday Triple Treat Movie Night!

Matinee (1993) : William Castle-inspired movie promoter Lawrence Woolsey, who brings his unique brand of flashy kitschy horror showmanship (combining film effects, stage props and actors in rubber suits in this salute to the B-movie) to the unsuspecting residents of Key West, Florida. It's 1962, and fifteen-year-old fan Gene Loomis can't wait for the arrival of Woolsey, who is in town to promote his latest offering of atomic power gone berserk, MANT!. But the absurd vision of Woolsey's tale takes on a sudden urgency as the Cuban Missile Crisis places the real threat of atomic horror just 90 miles off the coast. With the help of Gene and Woolsey's leading lady, Ruth, the master showman gives Key West a premiere they'll never forget. Anything can happen in the movies, and everything does in this hilarious tribute to a more innocent and outrageous time in American cinema.

Popcorn (1991) : kills at an all-night horrorthon at an old theatre put on by a bunch of film students. Maggie, the lead character, believes it's really Lanyard Gates, a crazed film maker who killed his family live on stage, fifteen years ago. And now he's back to kill his daughter, Sara, who is believed to be really Maggie.

Midnight Movie (2008) : A  group of friends attend the midnight screening of a 1970s cult horror film at a small theater in a sleepy suburban town. These unsuspecting teenagers are unaware that the director and star of the movie made a bloody escape from a psych ward five years earlier and may still be on the loose. Both the detective on the case and the killer's empathetic doctor are in attendance along with bikers Harley and his main squeeze. As the movie, The Dark Beneath, begins, the teenagers are shocked to see one of their friends murdered on screen. Unfortunately for everyone, this isn't a prank. The group of moviegoers come to realize that the film's star has escaped into their reality and isn't going to let them leave. With all exits somehow locked and no way of contacting anyone in the outside world, they all must work together to defeat the killer and find a way out of the theater.
