Reviews!

Machete (2010) : Straight up I give this one a 10. I have read good reviews and bad ones (more bad than good) but I like this on a lot. This is one of those movies that had me in like 5 minutes of watching. This film has it all action, gore, nudity, and cheese. It has a great but simple plot/story line with an amazing cast (Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Don Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Steven Seaga). Co-written, produced, and directed byRobert Rodriguez and one of his best in my opinion. Three years ago in Mexico, determined Federale Machete is betrayed and set-up by his boss, resulting in his wife and child being murdered by drug kingpin Torrez. Now, in Texas, Machete resurfaces when hired to assassinate Senator McLaughlin, an extreme advocate against illegal immigration. Once again betrayed and set-up, Machete plots his revenge against the men who've wronged him with the help of resistance fighter Luz, ICE Agent Sartana, and the shotgun-toting Padre.

The A-team (2010) : To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from this one. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to see it but I am glad that I did. I really enjoyed it. I liked some of the casting but not everyone, Sharlto Copley who played Murdock was by far the best. The plot is over the top but really good. Four American soldiers who are in Iraq are sent on a mission to recover plates for printing 100 dollar bills that were used to print a billion dollars. After doing the job and returning to the base their commanding officer is killed in an explosion and the plates are stolen by another operative. They would be court martialed and sent to different prisons. 6 months later, the leader, Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates. But after doing it, they discover that the spook might not be ok. And a military intelligence officer who was involved with one of them is pursuing them. This one gets an 8.

The Town (2010) : I knew nothing about this movie when I rented it but got it anyways. I was really shocked at how much I really liked it. I am not a Ben Affleck fan what so ever but this movie is really good. The plot/story line was really well done and the casting for the most part was really good. In Boston's bleak Charlestown, criminals depend on a code of silence, those caught serve their time. Doug MacRay masterminds bank robberies with three friends: the hotheaded Jem, Des, an electrician, and Al, their driver. After a dicey bank job, Doug must make sure the female bank manager, Claire, who lives in Charlestown, doesn't know who they are. He contrives to meet her and then finds her appealing. As the FBI zeroes in on the gang, Doug wants out, Claire doesn't know who he really is, and Jem and their money launderer, an aging florist, insist that Doug do one more job. I give this one an 8.
