Thursday Triple Treat!

Ski Horror Triple Feature!

Snowbeast (1977) : In this made for TV film, an enormous and angry bigfoot creature begins to terrorize a Colorado Ski Resort during a winter carnival, by eating several skiers. At first everyone insists it is just a bear, until ski patrolman Tony Rill sees a white shadowy beastly shape disappearing into the woods. Although Tony's grandmother Mrs. Carrie Rill, who owns the Ski Resort and the town sheriff, Sheriff Paraday disagree, it soon becomes clear when the creature finally attacks the town.

Ice Spiders (2007) : A group of young Olympic skiers go to train with a retired professional skier at a ski resort in Utah. Genetically altered spiders escape from a nearby laboratory and begin killing and eating the humans at the resort. The skiers and the resort workers must try to escape the spiders while waiting for officials from the lab to attempt to capture the spiders. There are multiple scenarios involving spiders terrorizing the young skiers in an abandoned school bus. Several other characters attempt to barricade themselves in the main resort building.

Frozen (2010) : In Mount Holliston, snowboarders Dan Walker, his girlfriend Parker O'Neil and his best friend Joe Lynch don't have enough money to buy cable car tickets. Parker bribes Jason, an employee of the skiing station, with one hundred dollars. When the system is nearing closure, they force Jason to let them have the last pass. However, Jason needs to resolve a problem and his colleague misunderstands his instructions and stops the cable car, and the trio of snowboarders gets stranded on the chairlift on the top of the mountain. When they see that the lights of the ski resort had been turned off, they need to make a choice: leave the chairlift or freeze to death. (I have a bunch of movies to review and this is one of them. I got this one a while ago but waited till the winter season to watch it. I usually hate movies that take place in one place like Open Water or Penny Dreadful. But I have to say I really enjoy this movie. It keeps you on edge and has a pretty good storyline even though it takes place in one place. All and all this is a good movie with a good cast and makes you never want to go up on a chair lift. I give this movie an 8! )
