Saturday Graverite!
Slaughter High (1986 ; 95 brain eaters) : This is your classic 1980 slasher film written and directed by George Dugdale, Mark Ezra, and Peter Litten which is now considered a cult classic. This film also has a great cast as well Caroline Munro as Carol Manning (she was actually 36 when she did this role but played a teenager), Simon Scuddamore as Marty Rantzen (he killed him self shortly after the movie was made), Carmine Iannaconne as Skip Pollack, Donna Yeager as Stella, Gary Martin as Joe, Billy Hartman as Frank, Michael Saffran as Ted Harrison, John Segal as Carl Putney, Kelly Baker as Nancy, Sally Cross as Susan, and Josephine Scandi as Shirley. The original name for this movie is April Fool's Day but was renamed because another slasher film being released the same year had the same name. Japan is the only country to have the film released with the original title. The music score was composed by Harry Manfredin who has done tons of amazing movie scores but most known for the Friday the 13 films. This was filmed in London and most of the actors have fake american accents.
The popular kids torture high-school geek Marty when Carol gets him into a shower in the girls' locker room, and makes him think she's going to do the nasty with him. It's all a set-up, with video cameras and Marty's privates exposed for everyone to see, and Marty's head getting jammed down a toilet . But the mean kids don't stop there. They give Marty a joint, and in a chemistry-lab mishap involving nitric acid, he catches fire. But, of course, Marty isn't dead, just really badly scarred and, as far as the mean kids know, he's been committed to a hospital somewhere. Years later a reunion is held where each of the students face a stalker killer who may be the same nerd out for revenge.
This is not the best movie ever but actually one of my favorite 1980's slasher films. The gore is pretty good and some of the death scenes are to die for. I think this is a perfect movie for a Saturday night. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!
For you horror fans : A poster of "Pieces" (a great horror film from 1982) is visible on the Porno Movie Manager's office wall when he's talking with Carol over the phone.
