2 more reviews!
Open House (2010) : I really enjoyed this movie, it kinda had the feeling you get from The Strangers and Funny Game (both amazing movies by the way). I think the casting was right on and the story line was very intense and interesting for the most part. Brian Geraghty who plays David is amazing in this role, he is totally creepy and very OCD but at the same time you love him. A couple on the verge of a nasty divorce attempt to sell their empty love nest and move on with their lives, separately. After a successful open house they are horrified to discover, days later, that a potential buyer didn't leave their home. While Alice is being held captive in the basement, the unannounced house guest moves in upstairs. She senses her capture is being kept a rebellious secret. She knows he's her only way out, if she can only get out alive. I give this one an 8/10.
After.Life (2009) : Again I really enjoyed this one for what it is. Both of these movies seems to get bad reviews but I think they are both great. I was excited about this one because first off I liked that storyline and second what an amazing cast. I also really enjoy the feel of this movie. After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn't believe she's dead, despite the funeral director's reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna's grief-stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can't shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn't what he appears to be. As the funeral nears, Paul gets closer to unlocking the disturbing truth, but it could be too late and Anna may have already begun to cross over the other side. I give this one a 9/10.
