Huge movie update!
Well to start off Monday was Presidents Day and we busted out the VCR to watch Point Break. This is such a great movie. The story is great and the cast is so good. In the coastal town of Los Angeles, a gang of bank robbers call themselves the ex-presidents. They commit their crimes while wearing masks of ex-presidents Reagan, Carter, Nixon and Johnson. The F.B.I. believes that the members of the gang could be surfers and send young agent Johnny Utah undercover at the beach to mix with the surfers and gather information. Utah meets surfer Bodhi and gets drawn into the lifestyle of his new friend. But when he realizes his new friends are the ex-presidents he has to take them down.
Being Tuesday was Fat Tuesday we decided to watch Feed. I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. I love it and think the story line is amazing but it totally makes me sick, haha. In Sidney, the Interpol agent Phillip Jackson investigates crimes in Internet with his partner Nigel. After a mission in Hamburg, Phillip has troubles in the relationship with his liberal girlfriend Abbey that tags him "chauvinist pig". While researching the web, Phillip finds a bizarre site where a man shows obese women being fed by him. He finds the origin of the site in Ohio, and without authorization, he travels to USA pursuing the pervert Michael Metszencalmpf, a.k.a. Michael Carter. When Phil meets Michael, he surprisingly knows who Phil is. Further, Michael tells him that what he is doing is not wrong since he is releasing fat women from the standards of thinness imposed by the society. However, Phil discovers the true motives of Michael, beginning a personal war against the deranged criminal.
I was really excited to watch The Collector and it was pretty good for the most part. I feel that it could have explained a bit more. But I guess when you have tons of gore you might feel you don't need much of a story. The casting was pretty good and I give this one an 8. This movie is about a handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer's country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked "Collector" in a maze of lethal invention while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob. I will say the traps are pretty amazing. Watch this one!
Picked up the remake of The Stepfather. I am always weary about remakes but I liked this one a lot. It held my attention the whole time and I think the casting was really good. I def. give this one a 10. Michael Harding returns home from military school to find his mother Susan, happily in love with a man known as David Harris. He seems like the perfect father and husband to everyone, except Michael who suspects that he isn't quite the man he seems to be. Along with his girlfriend Kelly, his biological father Jay, and Susan's friends. They slowly start to piece together the mystery of the man who is set to become his stepfather, but they may be too late in getting to the truth.
We watched the movie Triangle and I liked it. I spent the whole time trying to figure things out but it is what it is. I give this one an 8. When Jess sets sail on a yacht with a group of friends, she cannot shake the feeling that there is something wrong. Her suspicions are realized when the yacht hits a storm and the group is forced to board a passing ocean liner to get to safety, a ship Jess is convinced she's been on before. The ship appears deserted, the clock on board has stopped, but they are not alone... Someone is intent on hunting them down, one by one. And Jess unknowingly holds the key to end the terror. If your into movies with weird twist check this one out.
