MOVIES!
Cirque du Freak: The Vampires Assistant: I love love loved this movie. The story line is great and I loved the casting. This is one of those movies I could watch every day. I give this one a 10! A boy named Darren Shan unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares. Darren was like most kids in his suburban neighborhood. He hung out with his best friend, got decent grades and usually stayed out of trouble. But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That's the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley turns him into a Vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak as a Vampire.
Surrogates: This is another movie that I really enjoyed. I wasn't too sure about it at first but it was really good. The story line was good, great casting and the robots were scary haha. I give this one a 9.5. In the not too distant future, technology allows humans to live their lives through robots they call surrogates. Humans have in effect cocooned themselves in their homes, never venturing outside. Rather, they explore life through their surrogates who may or may not resemble them. Tom Greer and his partner Peters are FBI agents assigned to investigate the destruction of two surrogates that has also caused the unthinkable: the human hosts were also killed. The use of surrogates is not universally endorsed with some humans living in technology and machine-free zones. Led by a man called The Prophet, the fear is that they have put their hands on a weapon that would fundamentally change human society. Greer believes they have also put their hands on a weapon that could fundamentally change society, though he begins to wonder if that might be a good thing.
Law Abiding Citizen: I really liked this one, it def. kept my attention the whole time. The story line was really great and the casting was amazing. This one gets a 9.5. This focuses on a man who, ten years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to extract justice from the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case against their killers. His vengeance threatens not only the man who allowed mercy to supersede justice, but also the system and the city that made it so.
She's Crushed: I liked this one actually, I was really surprised because it was a Maverick Entertainment Group release and most of the time the MEG movies suck. But this one was pretty good, the casting was eh, the acting was eh but the story line is pretty good. I give this one a 7.5. Love can be painful. Very painful. The intriguing-on-the-outside, twisted-and-tortured-on-the-inside Tara sets her sights on the unassuming guy-next-door Ray. Their innocent flirting turns into a regretful one night stand which he hopes to put behind him. Tara has different plans for their relationship. It becomes horrifically apparent that she refuses to be cast aside and is willing to go to sick extremes to keep her man as people in Ray's life are met with torturous ends. Amidst this violently twisted love story unfolds a profound social commentary on love and the effects of violence.
