A couple reviews!

I have hardly been watching anything new these days and most of the new stuff that I do end up watching isn't worth the time to review. But last week I did catch a few new movies that I thought deserved a little bit of attention.

My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 3 (2012) : I feel like I am being judged for this but I don't really care to be honest sometimes I need a crappy, campy, kinda girly horror movie in my life. I really liked the first two. The story lines/plots held their own, they had his campy slasher feeling and I kinda loved the main character. The castings weren't so bad and for a made for TV MTV movie they had a good budget. Well I was excited that they were making a third one. Most of the time I hate when a horror series keeps making more and more movies, there are a few that could probably make 100 sequels and I would see every one of them but it has to be a great series like Nightmare on Elm Street. But most of the time a series of movies gets way over played, the story lines get old, they become repetitive, they lose their quality and usually just straight up suck. But I was excited non the less and to be honest every reason I just gave is truly the reason why they just shouldn't have made more the one sequel. I didn't hate the third one, I have watched way worse. It was watchable but it wasn't one of those movie you would want to watch again unless you really wanted to watch all three together as a triple feature but would probably fall asleep during the third one. It would probably be okay as background noise but nothing more. The story line was boring to start with, the first 30 minutes I kept doing other stuff because it wasn't grabbing me, it was very predictable and it had one of those story lines that was trying way to hard. A horror sequel should just work and not have to try so hard, I liked the first two so you have me locked in so just give me what I want. This time around the characters annoyed me. If you get the chance to check it out and you like the other two, watch it but it's not something you need to hunt down. I give this one a 5.
After escaping the Roller Dome and the Boneyard party, 18 year old Skye Rotter has decided to leave for college to pursue her art career. But before she can reach her destination she receives a phone call from her sister, Alex, who has not returned a single phone call or text message in 2 years. Skye knows that she's not a part of Alex's life anymore but when she tries to tell her she's leaving for college, Alex just has to say goodbye. Sienna, Skye's ride to college and new friend (whom she met on craigslist), tells Skye she has to bury the hatchet with her sister before can move on. But when Skye and Sienna show up at Alex's grandparents' country house, Skye realizes that Alex invited her to her "Sweet 16" birthday party. Skye makes it noticeable how twisted she feels that is, but Alex insists on her staying so they can "talk". But when the party guests start disappearing and being found dead, the truth comes out about Alex. Skye must now figure out a way to get out of the house and get away from her mental sister.

The Leprechaun's Revenge (2012) : I love holiday themed horror movie because on holidays I just wanna watch horror movies and chill. So it was awesome to see that they were making a new Leprechaun movie that had nothing to do with the original Leprechaun films, I love all of them but it was a nice change. It was on Syfy last Saturday but we didn't get a chance to watch it till Sunday since we had went out to visit some friends of ours that had moved away. I am glad we did end up watching it and not putting it off like we do sometimes when we DVR something. It had a good plot and a great cast. The special effects were a little Syfy original but they weren't as bad as they usually are. The movie started off with good intentions and did get a bit to Syfy original but I think they put a good effort into it. It's a little on the silly side but not in a bad way. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day.  I give this one a 7.5.
It's pretty straight forward, an evil leprechaun who has been imprisoned within the roots of a majestic old oak tree, is accidentally set loose on St. Patrick’s Day when a lady touched a red four lead clover and becomes cursed. Once free, he takes out his bloody revenge on the descendants of the people who originally imprisoned him.
