Saturday!

My Bloody Valentine (1981 ; 90 brain eaters) : A Canadian slasher horror film released in the early 1980's and considered a low-budget cult film that is of the slasher genre. This film was directed by George Mihalka, the story was written by Stephen Miller and the screenplay by John Beaird. It was filmed in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada with a budge of CAN $2,300,000 and grossed about $6,000,000. This is one amazing movie with a great storyline/plot, some good gore and a really awesome cast. This film stars Paul Kelman as Jessie 'T.J.' Hanniger, Lori Hallier as Sarah, Neil Affleck as Axel Palmer, Don Francks as Chief Jake Newby, Keith Knight as Hollis, Alf Humphreys as Howard Landers, Cynthia Dale as Patty, Jim Murchison as Tommy, Helene Udy as Sylvia, Rob Stein as John, Terry Waterland as Harriet, Carl Marotte as Dave, Jack Van Evera as Happy, and Peter Cowper as The Miner & Harry Warden. This movie has one of my all time favorite kill scenes (the dryer scene). This is a perfect holiday horror movie. The music was done by Paul Zaza who has did music for many other great movies. There was talk about a sequel but declined and than they did the 3D remake so it is unlikely they will ever do a sequel even though they totally should.
On Valentine's Day 20 years before, an explosion of methane gas took the lives of a group of coal miners working in the Hanniger Mine near the small Nova Socia town of Valentine Bluffs. The accident occurred because supervisors left their posts to attend the annual Valentine's Day dance. A year afterward, Harry Warden - the only survivor of the accident - retaliated by killing the two supervisors, and leaving a terrifying warning never to hold another Valentine's Day dance. Now, a group of young adults decides to hold another dance, despite warnings. When a blood-soaked heart arrives at the police station, accompanied by an ominous message, the dance is canceled. But a Valentine party is held in its place... at the coal mine, and it isn't long before the town's young people begin dying violently. It appears Harry Warden has returned to punish those who did not heed his warning...
