Saturday Graverites a day early...

I know it is only Friday but I decided to do my Saturday Graverites today because tomorrow I will be busy with Oktoberfest and will be away from home drinking beer and watching my Wiener dog race.

The Stuff (1985 ; 93 brain eaters) : This is an amazing horror movie from the 80's which was written, directed and produced by Larry Cohen. This movie stars Michael Moriarty, Garrett Morris, Andrea Marcovicci, and Paul Sorvino and had a budget of $1,700,000. A weird yummy goo erupts from the earth and is discovered by a couple of miners. They taste it and decide to market it because it tastes so good. The American public literally eats up the new dessert sensation now known as The Stuff but unfortunately, it takes over the brains of those who eat it, turning them into zombie-like creatures. Industrial spy and former FBI agent David 'Mo' Rutherford is hired by executives of the ice-cream industry to disclose the recipe of the phenomenally successful marshmallow and yogurt like desert. Somehow, its consumers become addicted in the product, and competitors want the formula. With the support of Nicole, the the designer of the Stuff's advertising campaign and a boy named Jason, who refused to eat it after he sees it move on it's own and his family became consumed. Mo tries to prove that the Stuff is a malevolent, possibly sentient, natural substance that is trying to take over the minds of the population of Earth.

A fun fact : There is a  scene in the motel where the Stuff comes out of the mattress and pillows and attacks the man on the wall and ceiling. It was shot in a room that could turn upside down, allowing the Stuff to move up and down the wall. It was exactly the same room used in A nightmare On Elm Street (1984) when  Johnny Depps's character Glen is sucked into his bed and his blood is regurgitated back out onto the ceiling.

I so remember this movie.

I thought I was the only person to have ever seen it. People always look at me like I am crazy when I mention it.
