EXPLOITATION!!!

I have had themes for the last few months and I figures this month I would try to catch up on some of my regular movie reviews but still have a small theme. I seriously love Exploitation films, they are types of film that are promoted by "exploiting" often lurid subject matter such as suggestive or explicit sex, sensational violence, drug use, nudity, freaks, gore, the bizarre, destruction, rebellion, mayhem, and so on subject matter. Very often, exploitation films are of low quality in every sense but not always. These films have been made since the early 1920 but made popular in 1960's and 1970's. Lots of exploitation films have shock value and focus on problems at that like like premarital sex, VD, drug use and such. Grindhouses and drive-ins played a lot of exploitation films in the 1960's and 1970's which started a cult following for these great movies. Some of the genre are Blaxploitation, Ozploitation, Sexploitation, Nazisploitation, Shocksploitation, Carsploitation, Nunsploitation, Drugsploitation, Teensploitation, Britsploitation, Hixploitation, Mexploitation,  Cautionary/educational films, Biker films, Slasher films, Splatter films, Cannibal films, Eco-terror films, Spaghetti Westerns, Giallo films, Chambara films, Martials arts/Ninja films, Mondo films, Nudist films, Revenge/Rape films, Women Prison films, Vigilante films and Mockbusters. One of my favorite companies Something Weird Video publishes a lot of exploitation films, pretty much an endless supply of greatness. Enjoy the Exploitation!

My first pick is I Spit On Your Grave : The film follows Jennifer, a writer who is working on a new novel and needs to get out of the city to finish it. She hires a riverside apartment in upstate New York to finish her novel, attracting the attention of a number of rowdy male locals. They catch Jenifer one day and strip her naked for the village idiot and rape her. Jennifer is later attacked and raped a further two times by the four degenerates, and her novel is also destroyed. But Jennifer slowly recovers and in her now-twisted, psychotic mind, she then begins to seek revenge on the four men who raped her.
