June Bugs!

Writer-director Frank Henenlotter who has done Basket Case 1,2 & 3 and Frankenhooker brings you Brain Damage. An over the top cheesy horror comedy from 1988.  A disturbed urban kid has a prehistoric leech-like creature named Elmer who sings, philosophizes, feasts on human blood, and injects his hosts with a highly pleasurable psychedelic hormone. The kid becomes dependent on this evil disembodied brain. The brain feeds the guy a narcotic substance in exchange for his unwilling assistance in obtaining the brains of innocent victims for sustenance. This turns into a tour of circa-1980s underground NYC clubs, backlots, and other seedy locations. This has lots of funny literate dialogue ever to grace a no-budget monster movie. Chiller Theater TV host John Zacherle is the uncredited voice of Elmer. This has a good cast and an excellent story line. I know it isn't really about bugs but hey. Enjoy!
