Saturday Gravrites!
Happy Maliens (May-lee-uns). Well it is the 1st day of May and this month it is all about aliens. To start it off the Saturday Gravrites movie is one of my most favorite movies ever. Mars Attacks!: Hands down this is one of the best Tim Burton movie ever. Not only is the story line amazing but it also has one of the best cast ever. There isn't a person in this movie that I don't love. I have probley watched this movie at least 200 times since I first saw it when it first came out. This is your campy B-rate sci-fi comedy that has the feeling of old sci-fi alien invasion movies with ray guns and funny sounding (but totally amazing) aliens. This movie is actually based off trading cars. Back in the late 1960s, Topps Cards created a line of Mars Attacks trading cards. These cards were pulled off the shelves after only a few months because the aliens depicted on them were considered to be too gruesome. When the USA satellites photograph many flying saucers coming to Earth, the American President James Dale has a meeting with his advisers. He is convinced by Professor Donald Kessler that Martians would be a developed culture and therefore peaceful by nature, in spite of the warnings of General Decker. The authorities, some civilians and the press prepare a welcome committee for the aliens, but they realize that Mars is actually attacking Earth. "They Came In Peace"
