Well today is Saturday so that means another favorite. Keeping in mind that it's Metal March today's movie is Detroit Rock City. I seriously love this movie. This is a cult film from 1999 about four teenagers Hawk, Lex, Trip, and Jam from Cleveland, Ohio who worship Kiss and have a garage band call "Mystery". It's 1978 and in Detroit there is a Kiss concert which they have tickets for. Well turns out Jams accidentally takes Trips jacket and his mother finds them and ends up burning them up because she thinks it's the "devils" music. Mean while Trip gets out of class and wins a radio contest in Detroit for Kiss tickets. Jam ends up in a boarding school which his friends break him out so they can drive to Detroit to pick up their tickets and see Kiss. Of course along the way the hit a few mishaps. When they finally get to Detroit they find out that Trip forgot to leave his information and lost the tickets. So now it is up to the four of them to figure out how to get tickets and attend this show. In order to make it to the show they must steal, cheat, strip, deal with an anti-rock mom and generally do whatever it takes to see the band that has inspired them to be musicians. This movie stars Edward Furlong, Sam Huntington, Giuseppe Andrews, James DeBello, Natasha Lyonne, Lin Shaye and Melanie Lynskey. Plus you have the original four members of Kiss as themselves. Just a great movie for all metal fans. This comedy was written by Carl V. Dupre and directed by Adam Rifkin. Also this movie has an amazing soundtrack!

The movie quote for today comes from Hawk in Detroit Rock City, "Quite a night. So far you've seen me and my dick throw up."
