October 4th!

Happy October 4th!

It is only the 4th and it feels like the month is just flying by. We are planning on having our Hallow-house-warming party on the 27th so I am in overdrive mode to get stuff done around the house and it is just not getting done as fast as I would like it to. We made a trip to Target and ended up spending more money that we don't have but we got some more fun Halloween stuff. Some ghost lights for the outside, a skeleton for the outside, a beverage dispenser and a Halloween shirt. I swear I didn't plan on buying any of that and didn't even get what I went there for. I also went to the craft store and picked up a bunch of Halloween ribbon, some other craft stuff and a little paper-mache skull.

Today's gift! I love the Creature and I love that the guy is a little rockabillyish and that is the main reason the Mister got it for me.

Movie pick for tonight!

Idle Hands (1999) : Anton would like very much to go about his daily routine of smoking weed, watching TV, and lusting after the girl across the street. The only thing stopping him is his demon-possessed right hand which seems determined to kill anyone it encounters. After dropping his parents and his best friends, the hand sets its sights on Molly, the punk rock girl of Anton's affection. Luckily for him, Pnub and Mick (his recently deceased buds) are back from below ground to help the problem get solved. Only they better get cracking because the hand is out for more than just a killing spree. If it gets its fingers on Molly before midnight on prom night, her soul is hell-bound.

I am so so so excited to see Frankenweenie!!!

The Mister even went out of his way to buy me all of the re-useable bags from subway. He's a keeper!

Another thing I am super excited about is the Marilyn Monroe MAC collection, I only got two of the eye shadows, two of the lipsticks and the beauty powder. I love it, it's very classic and nice. I loved the one lipstick Love Goddess so much that the Mister even went up and got me a back up. He's the best!

For The Drink
20 ounces pineapple juice
1 can (15 ounces) cream of coconut
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup orange juice
10 ounces good-quality rum
Directions
1. Pour the corn syrup in a shallow bowl. Dip a toothpick into the food coloring, and stir a very small amount into the syrup to combine. Hold a glass by the stem, dip rim into the syrup mixture, and turn glass, coating entire rim. Turn the glass upright, allowing mixture to drip down sides. Dip the remaining glasses. Set aside.
2. Whisk together drink ingredients. Place 2 1/2 cups ice in a blender, and add 1 cup drink mixture. Blend until smooth; add more pineapple juice if mixture is too thick. Repeat with remaining ice and mixture. Carefully pour into prepared glasses; serve.

Ice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 ounce light rum
3 tablespoons simple syrup
1/4 cup 100 percent pomegranate juice
1 ounce dark rum

Happy October 1st!

Hello October! I love that it is finally October and it totally feels like it, I took little Bacon out for a walk and it was the perfect fall weather. It's the time of year to enjoy all things apple, cider mill visits, silly haunted houses, too much candy and of course Halloween. I feel like I would enjoy it a little more if I didn't have a million plus things to do, like right now I should be sorting boxes but I decided I needed a little bit of a break. Here are a few random pictures...
Our new wreath on the front door, once spring comes around we are going to repaint the door, I hate the color of it right now.

The shelving unit in our living room, you can't see the bottom 3 rows because of the couch.

The built in shelving unit at the top of our stairs. When we first looked at the house, this was one of the things I fell in love with, I knew it would be perfect for some of my Halloween collection. After doing this and the other shelving unit in our living room, I ended up finding 10 more boxes full of Halloween stuff and now I have to find places for it all.

This was one of the new things we picked up this year, they are actually hand soap dispensers but I just wanted them for display so I bought wine stoppers and now they are super cute.

Another thing we picked up was this year.

My October 1st gift from the Minster and he fits it perfect in my kitchen!

My Frankenstein Monster and Bride of Frankenstein tea light candle holders I got from Bath and Body Works but I am using them for my makeup brushes. My makeup area is still a work in progress, I'm glad I picked these up they are perfect for holding makeup brushes.

MOVIE PICK FOR TONIGHT!

The Crazies (1973) : In Evans City, a plane crashes on the hill releasing for six days in the water the bacteriological weapon Trixie that affects only human beings. The army under the command of Colonel Peckemseals seals off the town to contain the virus and there is no antidote for the victims that are doomed to die or become incurably mad. The pregnant nurse Judy, her husband David, their friend Clank, their new acquaintance Artie and his daughter Kathy tries to cross the border of the town, but the escapees are hunted by the army. Meanwhile, the scientist Dr. Ralston Watts researches blood samples trying to find the cure for the disease.

It happens...

I feel like I have been neglectful for way too long. I look forward to doing 3 months of Halloween but I have failed this year. Between unpacking, cleaning, trying to figure out where I want things to go and doing a million other things that is involved in being a first time home owner, all while fighting off the worst/longest cold I have even had, has pretty much taken over my life. It seems that when I am not doing something with the house we have something else going on. Like this past weekend we went to Oktoberfest like we do every year to race our Bacon and enjoy all things German and the weekend before that was the Renaissance Festival, plus we have a lot of other Fall activities planned. But I decided even though I have so so many things that have to get done the month of October I am going to make sure I at least do 31 days of Halloween. Looking out the window it totally looks and smells like fall and puts me in to mood to enjoy it a little more than I am.

We just picked up Halloween III on blu-ray and I am so excited about watching it. The cover art is pretty amazing. It is one of my all time favorite horror movies and even though I am not overly impressed by blu-ray I could not pass it up. They also re-released the masks so we are awaiting ours in the mail right now and are so excited for them to come. It was just one of those things we couldn't pass up. We also picked up season 2 of The Walking Dead collector's edition because it was again something that we just couldn't pass up. It is a must have for fans of the Walking Dead.

We have finally moved into our amazing new home but we still have lots and lots of unpacking and organizing to do. But we are very happy with how everything turned out. We have a lot to do to make it ours but that will take time. I'm very excited about getting settled in and enjoying the Fall since it is the best time of the year and right around the corner. We are always on the go lately or doing stuff around the house, I have no me time left for anything. I did get out a couple days and do some Halloween shopping. At the Cracker Barrel I picked up a water globe with eyeballs in it and an eyeball mirror compact. At Bath and Body Works I picked up a frankenstein monster, bride of frankenstein and pumpkin tea light holder that I am using for makeup brushes, some hand soap, a haunted house wallflower and a few other things. At Michaels I grabbed a few Halloween stamps and something for our Halloween tree. I also picked up some Halloween jewelry at a few different places. I would very much like for the rest of the stores to put their Halloween stuff out. I will have a better update soon.

Lately my life has revolved around house stuff, packing up the apartment, being sick and somewhat trying to enjoy summer. I have had a few things that I was super excited to blog about but I had to packed it all up for the moment. But once we are all moved in I'll have lots to post. While out doing some shopping the other day I did notice some Halloween stuff coming out. It makes me very excited and the fact that we will be in a house and actually have Trick or Treaters makes me even more excited about Halloween this year. I will try and get on here a little more but it's just hard right now. Well I am off to do some more packing!

I know right...

Since April of 2011 I haven't been as active as I would like to be. It has been an on and off thing since than. Right when I try to get things back to normal and start posting regularly, something happens. Well again something has happened and I do not have the time right now to blog as much as I would like because we are in the middle of buying a house and it is so much work filling out paperwork, meetings, packing and everything else that goes with buying a house. I will still try and post here and there but for the next few months I will be super busy and I'm sorry about that. But at least I'll have some fun posts to share!

The Vomit Gore Trilogy

Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (2006) : What happens to a woman when she is abused by her parents, becomes a runaway at the tender age of 14, is molested by a local priest who takes her in and is then used and abused by nearly everyone she comes into contact with? For Angela Aberdeen the answer is to turn away from the human race and all earthly reality by making a sacred pact with Satan. After enlisting his protection in return for her eternal soul, her first act is to burn down the priest s church as he lays passed out drunk on the floor. She then flees to the city where she develops a horrible addiction to alcohol and drugs. Angela quickly spirals downward in her journal to Hell. Stripping turns to pornography and prostitution and as her deadly addictions tear her body apart, she realizes that even Satan has seemingly forsaken her.

ReGOREgitated Sacrifice (2008) : Bulimic porn star Angela Aberdeen drowned herself in the tub, and now her soul goes spiraling through a demented dimension toward hell. She gets the nightmarish tour guide by two demonic twin sisters, who are conjoined at the head. They are seperated in extremely grisly fashion, and we get the barf-inducing delight of seeing some gruesome bubbling brain and blood splatter.

Slow Torture Puke Chamber (2010) : The third and final installment in director Lucifer Valentine's "Vomit Gore Trilogy" has the tortured and vomit-stained soul of Angela Aberdeen  descending into Hell to pay her debt to Satan. However, it seems the Devil isn't done with her, and he sends Angela back to Earth to unite with a new victim so they can merge into one perfect slave designed for ultimate abuse.

Lollipop Chainsaw

The last couple of days I have been playing Lollipop Chainsaw. I was super stoked for this game for many different reasons. Lollipop Chainsaw focuses on zombie hunter and cheerleader Juliet Starling who fights hordes of zombies in San Romero High School. She carries with her the severed, yet still living, head of her boyfriend Nick Carlyle whom she decapitated after he suffered a zombie bite. Nick can be used for various purposes, including being kicked at enemies by Juliet or being put on the body of a decapitated zombie to control it. The enemy zombies are led by "a group of zombie rock and roll lords" who were former high school students who were turned into intelligent zombies that each have different personalities, music-styles and motif's. The zombie outbreak has been caused by Juliet's former classmate, an evil goth druid named Swan who seeks to break the barrier between the human world and the Rotten World, a world inhabited by zombies and other demonic forces. Killing enemies and saving classmates that are being attacked by zombies will fill up Juliet's star meter, which is used for super attacks. When the player completes certain tasks in the game, Juliet's chainsaw gets upgraded. Lollipop Chainsaw was a collaboration between game designer Goichi Suda and filmmaker James Gunn. One of the reasons I was looking forward to this game was Jimmy Urine from the  Mindless Self Indulgence would compose the music for the boss segments. He also provide the voice for Zed, a punk-rock themed boss. This game is so girly, has great music, a fun story line and I am in love!
